William H Peace
William was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended William Penn Charter School and Phillips Exeter Academy. He graduated from Yale University with a degree in Physics, having minored in English and Creative Writing. He served four years in the U. S. Navy, the last two as Chief Engineer of a destroyer.
William married Susan Lord and joined Westinghouse in Power Systems Field Sales. He progressed through assignments of increasing responsibility, becoming General Manager, Steam Turbine Generator Marketing and then General Manager, Synthetic Fuels Division. When the Synthetic Fuels Division was sold, he remained with it for two years before moving on to Carrier Corporation where he was appointed Senior Vice President, Industrial Refrigeration, and then President, European Transcontinental Operations. His first marriage was dissolved when he moved to Europe, where he met and married Anna Venturi, who is Italian.
Peace resigned from Carrier after four successful years and joined Doctus Consulting Europe as Director and Executive Consultant. Three years later he formed his own practice, which specialised in business performance improvement. He has also worked as an executive coach and interim general manager of high technology companies which were not meeting expectations. More recently, he has completed a number of pro-bono consulting and mentoring assignments for small London charities.
William has three grown children and seven grandchildren as well as two step-daughters and five step-grandchildren. His wife, Anna, ran a successful food business in London. They have a villa on the north coast of Sicily, where they spend several weeks each year.
He has written seven novels which have cumulatively won thirteen awards.
