Candin: Book 1, A Dog and His Boy

About the Book

Candin Leoni woke up one morning in the Hall of the Great Rock, having no idea where he was or how he got there. A resourceful boy, Candin has survived five years in the wilderness with the help of his “animal” companions, a twenty-seventh century VPC (Very Personal Computer), and the stored wisdom of his ancient Old-Earth relatives.

A Dog and His Boy is the first of five novels set in Soliam, the controlled, wilderness school where those who are destined to lead go to grow and be tested. The people of Candin’s world believe one cannot govern an entire world unless he has demonstrated that he can rule his own passions. The saga begins when young Candin unwittingly steps onto the wrong side of a generations-old family feud, befriending his nemesis, an unscrupulous Wilder, bent on revenge.

Will Candin’s compassionate heart be his undoing?
