The Cat Who Would Be Dog by Zuzanna Malavasic

About the Book

The road to self-discovery often takes some strange twists and turns. The Cat Who Would Be Dog is the fascinating story of a cat who joins a pack of dogs.

The Cat Who Would Be Dog is loosely based on Rudyard Kipling’s short story, “The Man Who Would Be King.” Boy, a large Maine coon cat, tells his amusing story of self-discovery. Most people think Boy is more dog than cat! He even joins the neighborhood pack of dogs, who are disarmed by his dog-like “look” and “walk.” When an orphaned newborn kitty invades his house, Boy is particularly glad that he’s “gone to the dogs.”

Boy entertains readers with his many tales and stories. He has a vivid imagination and casts himself and his family in a “Star Wars” episode. He dreams of eating buckets of ice cream in the park. He pulls off a daredevil stunt taking a ride on a Harley Davidson to meet the Big Kahuna. Hanging out with the dogs seems just fine for Boy, until a beautiful girl cat moves into the neighborhood. This makes Dog ponder if he really wants to be thought of as a dog after all!
