About the Book
Little Winged One is a story about shattered optimism and naiveté’. But, more importantly, this appropriately crude opening to the Guardian quartet is the story of biochemically altered teens and twenty-somethings beating the hell out of crooked businessmen, nosy journalists, the undead, and each other. Alida Beretta, a small town, middle American high school student, has a pair of functional dove’s wings attached to her back. Alida meets Tyler Goldman, a casual drug addict, soldier of fortune and occasional love interest who introduces her to the world of Guardians. Violence and chaos ensue, despite the best efforts of Alida’s sister, Lela. When Tyler’s team of corporate sponsored superhumans mistake Lela for a renegade test subject, Lela begins to lose control of her mysterious ability, and a California based securities tycoon develops interest in creating Guardians of his own.
Little Winged One sets the stage for the remaining volumes of the Guardian series as a, Sci-Fi bash em’ up action thriller, perfect for fans of B-movies, Japanese comic books and angsty teens committing physical assault.
