About the Books
The Birthday Bunch, a group of colourful creatures that look like the numbers 1 to 10, accompany young Nat and Nadia on a variety of exciting adventures—from the driest desert to the vast, blue sea.
In Treasure, Trash, and Turtles, author Michael Watson delights young readers with entrancing tales about Nat and Nadia, a brother and sister, and their numerical Birthday Bunch friends. Nat and Nadia love to travel, and their escapades with The Birthday Bunch illustrate their most special qualities: they are impulsive, smart, brave, and resourceful, and they are always seeking adventure. Those traits come in handy when Fortescue the camel takes them to the tomb of the Pharaoh where they must solve riddles to find a treasure, then when Ninetacles the octopus becomes trapped under the sea and exposes its dirty secret, and when Guthree the seagull helps them spot poachers and rescue some innocent and adorable baby turtles. Kids of all ages will be entertained and enthralled as they join Nat and Nadia’s adventures and learn about the world around them.
Join brothers Toots and Toby as they make new friends in three very special short stories that are filled with Snow, Slides, and Scares!
In the first tale, Toby, Toots, and the Snowman, the boys build a special snowman with the help of a seagull and a duck. The second story, Sixaz Sees Snow in the Desert, features Sixaz the alphabet snake, who asks the boys how to see snow in the desert. The final tale, Toots and Toby Save the Fishy Five, tells how the boys are able to save some fish in a garden pond.
Snow, Slides, and Scares is the second book in a trilogy about the Birthday Bunch.
Search, Secrets, and Spies, the third book in The Birthday Bunch series, follows the adventures of Oneness the Loch Ness Monster as he takes a stand to preserve the beauty of his home while tourists come to visit. In three delightful stories, Oneness is joined by his friends Twoneten the Caterpillar, Guthree the Seagull, and Sevento the Tadpole (The Birthday Bunch), as they attempt to escape from a spy submarine, solve the mystery when Oneness’ family goes missing, and make new friends, Finbar and Ninoola. What surprises are in store when Oneness’ birthday comes around? Will Loch Ness remain unscathed? How will Oneness’ family return home?
Theo and the Baby Bunch is composed of three stories suited to young children who have just had a new baby brother or sister.
The stories are interactive and engage children with simple questions and actions. There are plenty of fun pictures where kids are asked to find the answer.
In Chapter 1, “Baby Boy and the Baby Bunch,” Baby Theo’s needs are described. The Birthday Bunch learns that they were once tiny babies too, just like Theo.
“Wobbly, Floppy and Fluffy” in Chapter 2 shows how the Baby Bunch can also be like Baby Theo and be wobbly, floppy and fluffy.
In the final Chapter 3, titled “Wriggle, Snuggle, Snooze and Sleep,” Grandpa helps wriggling Theo to snuggle, snooze and sleep. It’s fun to see how all the Birthday Bunch also go to sleep!
This charming children’s book will help kids adapt to the arrival of a new baby, and learn that we must all grow up and change. No matter how much attention a new baby receives, all children are just as special, and are equally loved in their parents’ eyes.
