After Independence Day: A Memoir by Alyssa Dane

About the Book

Based on true events, After Independence Day: A Memoir tells of a love story gone wrong.

Once upon a time in Madison, Wisconsin, a woman accountant meets a handsome roofer on the Fourth of July. The story of their relationship continues over a period of 14 months.

It was love at first sight for 46-year-year-old Karen, when she meets 40-year-old Christopher at an Independence Day party. As their relationship begins to develop, Christopher suddenly leaves her for his ex-girlfriend, Ruth.

Karen decides to fight for Christopher, though he repeatedly chooses Ruth over her. Months go by while Karen tries to move on, and then Christopher suddenly reappears in her life. Karen is sure that he is about to leave Ruth, but he once again returns to his old girlfriend.

When is it time to finally cut all ties and really move on with life? After Independence Day: A Memoir is a painfully honest story that will touch your heart.
